Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in Wiltshire, England, about 2 miles west of Amesbury and 8 miles north of Salisbury.

Stonehenge is surely Britain’s greatest national icon, symbolizing mystery, power and endurance. Its original purpose is unclear to us but it is said that it was constructed in three phases. It has been estimated that the three phases of the construction required more than thirty million hours of labour and carrying of 40 ton rocks that stand alone since their arrival 5,000 years ago. Although its builders and its purpose remain a mystery, an abundance of theories surround Stonehenge; from the belief it is a religious temple to an astronomical clock and even a Bronze Age burial ground!
