The short version
We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to work, and — only if you agree — Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Nothing analytical is loaded until you press Accept. If you press Reject, no analytics cookies are set at all.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. Some are essential — without them things like staying logged in would not work. Others are optional, and under UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) we must ask before using those.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are always active. They do not track you and they are not used for advertising. Under UK law your consent is not required for them, because the site cannot function without them.

Analytics cookies — optional
These are set by Google Analytics, and only after you press Accept. They tell us things like which pages are popular and how people found us, so we can improve the site. They do not tell us who you are.

Google acts as our processor for this data. You can read Google's privacy policy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics on every website using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
What we do not use
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies, we do not use social media tracking pixels, and we do not sell or share your browsing data with advertisers.
Changing your mind
You can withdraw or give consent at any time, and it is as easy to refuse as to accept:
- To change your choice on this site: clear this site's data in your browser settings. The banner will appear again on your next visit and you can choose differently.
- To block cookies generally: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
Refusing analytics cookies does not limit your use of this website in any way.
